Frequently Asked Questions

Who will live in the homes?

Those who have a desire to live in a home they can call their own.  LifeQuest will work to match people’s desires and needs with a support network tailored to meet them, and the service capacity of LifeQuest.   The microhomes are designed to create a sense of  “my own home” to people who have only dreamed of one, yet never experienced it.

Will the people own their own home?

No.  LifeQuest will own the home and people living in the home will pay rent and utilities.

When will LifeQuest staff be at the homes?

During waking hours, LIfeQuest staff will assist people living in the homes.  During the overnight hours, LifeQuest will utilize technology to remotely monitor people as needed, ensuring security while maximizing privacy.

How does remote monitoring work?

LifeQuest will work with an outside company to install sensors, alarms, communication and other equipment, which will be personalized to the person living in the home.  A sensor or alarm could be set off if the activity falls outside a pre-determined schedule or timeframe.  For example, if a stove sensor is installed in a home, and we make sure the sensor goes off if the stove is on for longer than 30 minutes, or if the stove is started at 2:00 AM.

We can set each sensor or alarm individually, and is catered to how the person wants to live their life.  Some houses may have a lot of sensors because the person wants them.  For others, it might be just alarms.  For others, it might be two-way communication devices only. We will tailor each home specific to the person.
